Early Career Training Programme (from September 2025)

ECTP Registration Information

To register for our Early Career Training Programme (ECTP), you must register with the DfE’s Online Register Early Career Teachers Service.  Please note that this is a new service for 2026 and update your links.

There is a link and downloadable step by step guide at the end of this brief introduction.

Teach First as the Lead Provider and Bright Futures as the Delivery Partner must be assigned to the ECT and Mentor for us to see their record. If this is blank on your view of the DfE Service; please get in touch with us.

School Induction Tutors should be able to access the service via DfE Sign In. If your school has not made a nomination; the Induction Tutor will be able to create an account, your school DfE Sign In approver may need to verify the request prior to activation. On this new service additional staff can be given access to complete the administrative elements of registrations; e.g. a Business Manager or HR staff. Do note however that the named Induction Tutor role within the service must continue to be held by the person undertaking the full duties, including observations and reporting, and they must hold QTS and are usually a member of SLT.

The DfE will pass the details of Approved Registrations to Teach First for registration with Bright Futures.  The DfE portal doesn’t request all information required for the smooth running of the ECTP programme, for example the subject taught by the ECT.  Therefore, if you indicate that you are using Bright Futures as both your ECTP Provider and your Appropriate Body when you register for Appropriate Body, we will share relevant information to reduce the workload in schools.

Please note: your ECT must be registered with an Appropriate Body before the DfE can finalise their eligibility checks for the Early Career Training Programme.
