A message from the Deputy Director, Eleanor Davidson….
I am delighted that your school have chosen to work with Bright Futures Teaching School Hub as your Appropriate Body for statutory Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction. My role as Deputy Director and Induction Lead is to ensure the effective monitoring and support of the statutory induction process, the main hub of which is your school.
As well as upholding Bright Futures vision of ‘the best for everyone, the best from everyone‘, my duty is to also ensure that all ECTs are receiving their statutory entitlements and at the end of statutory induction, It will be my pleasure to confirm the recommendation of your headteacher/principal that you have consolidated your initial teacher training and passed this formal assessment process which as you should be aware is now carried out over 2-years (FTE for part-time ECTs) and must not be confused with the Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ETCE) programme which is not and must not be used as an assessment framework.
The information and guidance in this section of our website summarises some of the key aspects of statutory ECT induction and gives you signposts to further information and support which we hope you find useful including, if early engagement with your school will be possible before starting your induction, some things you may wish to consider when planning for the first few days of statutory induction.
I look forward to meeting you over the course of what I hope will be a rewarding period that provides you with a firm foundation for your chosen career which, as a teacher, can be challenging but ultimately a rewarding role that provides you with an opportunity to make a real difference to future life chances of young people.
We will be hosting an online briefing for new ECTs who are registered with us as the appropriate body on Tuesday 27th January 2026 at 3.30pm. You should have received a link to this Zoom session via email along with your login details for Mosaic platform. If you have not received these details, please check your junk/spam and if still not received, please liaise with your induction tutor at school to ensure you have been registered and correct details have been provided to us.
The online briefing will explain the role of the appropriate body within the statutory induction process (not the ECTE programme) and will introduce you to the appropriate body team. We anticipate that this session will be between 30 and 45 minutes in duration and is a repeat of previous sessions so does not require you attend if you have done so previously.
Best wishes
Eleanor Davidson
Deputy Director and Statutory Induction Lead
