NPQ Funding Information

The DfE has confirmed it will continue to provide FULLY FUNDED places to all teachers and leaders from publicly funded schools and 16 to 19 educational organisations for the following NPQs:

  • Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (NPQSENCO)
  • Headship (NPQH)

For our November 2025 cohort, FULLY FUNDED NPQS will be available to teachers and leaders from:

  • Schools: the top 50% of state funded schools in England that have the highest proportion of students attracting pupil premium, as set out in the eligibility lists
  • 16-19 settings: the top 50% of state funded settings in England that have the highest proportion of students eligible for disadvantage funding
  • For the Early Years leadership NPQ: highly disadvantaged early years settings will also be eligible

Schools can check their eligibility for funding  here.  It’s important to note:

  1. The amount of NPQ scholarship funding available nationally is limited. This means some teachers and leaders who are eligible for a scholarship may not be able to access a funded place.  We’ll be offering our places on a first-come-first-served basis so we encourage those interested to submit an application as soon as possible.
  2. Unlike previous years, in 2025/2026, there will be just one cohort and it will start in the autumn term.  There will be no spring term starting date.

The costs for those not able to access a funded place have been provided by Teach First below.
