About Us

Who we are

Designated by the Department for Education (DfE) in February 2021, Bright Futures Teaching School Hubs offer support to all schools in two hub areas: Trafford & Salford and Manchester & Stockport as well as to established partner schools and trusts beyond these areas. Our remit will cover all phases and types of schools. The Teaching School Hubs programme is funded by Department for Education

The Teaching School Hub programme is a network of 87 centres of excellence for teacher training and development, focused on some of the best schools and multi-academy trusts in the country. From September 2021, this programme replaces the previous network of around 800 teaching schools.

Teaching School Hubs will provide high-quality professional development to teachers at all stages of their careers.

A Teaching School Hubs’ role is to undertake the following core activities:

  • Delivery of Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
  • Delivery of the Early Career Framework (ECF)
  • Providing Appropriate Body (AB) services for Early Career Teachers (ECT)
  • Delivery of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
  • Other Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

These core activities will be central to the training and development of teachers throughout their career.
