It’s a statutory requirement that all ECTs are registered for statutory induction with an appropriate body.
If an ECT is not registered for statutory induction with an appropriate body, they are not under induction and induction cannot be backdated. Under the 2-year induction arrangements implemented by the DfE, there are 2 steps to the registration process:
1 – Register ECTs for statutory induction with an appropriate body (if working with us as your AB, register via Mosaic)
2 – Register ECTE (formerly ECF) training programme details with the DfE via their portal.
Both registration steps above are mandatory and registrations must be completed by school, this is not a process that ECTs are responsible for or can complete themselves. Statutory guidance places responsibility on heads/principals to ensure ECTs are fully registered. Heads/principals may delegate this responsibility to an induction tutor or school business manager/HR professional but the overall responsibility of ensuring ECTs are correctly registered cannot be delegated.
Please note: ECT Mentors will not have login details for Mosaic, only heads/principals, induction tutors/leads and ECTs.
If you are a new school within our designated TSH areas and you wish to work with us as your appropriate body for statutory induction or, there have been staffing changes at your school which means additional accounts are required for Mosaic, please contact us and will be able to further advise.
