Governance

The Teaching School Hub’s Partnership Advisory Group (PAG) supports and challenges the Teaching School Hubs to fulfil its role and remit and be accountable to the schools and communities it is designated to serve, by:

• ensuring the Teaching School Hub is transparent and open to external scrutiny regarding its work 
• offering a representative voice from Teaching Hubs area from its members and key stakeholders with relevant local knowledge
• enabling the Teaching School Hubs to draw upon the strategic advice and support from its members who have relevant and specialist expertise
• advocating the work of the designated Teaching School Hubs across its designated areas

The Teaching School Hubs remit is to focus on the ‘golden thread’ of

• Initial Teacher Training
• Early Career Framework 
• National Professional Qualifications 

The thread provides training for teachers from the very start of their careers right through to Executive Leadership.

Membership:

• The chair of the board holds a senior leadership position and is experienced in governance structures and is independent of the Teaching School Hubs
• The majority of members of the Partnership Advisory Groups are based in Teaching School Hub designated areas: Trafford & Salford and Manchester & Stockport and are independent of the Teaching School Hubs.  The board includes: 
  • From the designated Teaching School Hubs:
    • Trust representative – CEO and/or Deputy CEO
    • Trustee representative
    • Designated Lead School representative
    • Teaching School Hub Director
  • Local Authority, diocese and Multi-Academy Trust representatives from each designated area
  • Members from schools and colleges from each designated area representing the breadth and diverse local context of communities and contexts:  Early Years, primary, secondary and special sectors with their understanding and expertise
  • Members who represent local/national system partners, as appropriate, e.g. Research Schools and Curriculum Hubs, Lead Provider – ECF/NPQ
  • Members from other organisations with sector expertise, as appropriate to that of the Teaching School Hubs, eg HEI
